Police search for armed robbery suspect after chase in Milledgeville

Police are searching for a suspect following an armed robbery and brief chase Monday night in the area of P.A. John’s Road.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT-DT)  — Police are searching for a suspect following an armed robbery and brief chase Monday night in the area of P.A. John’s Road.

According to authorities, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery and soon located the suspect’s vehicle. A short pursuit followed before the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot near Grandview Court and Grandview Drive.

Officers continued searching the area overnight and say patrols remain active along Grandview Drive, Sinclair Dam Road, and surrounding neighborhoods.

The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Mehki Pettigrew. He was last seen wearing a bright green jacket and dark-colored pants.

Police are urging anyone who may see Pettigrew or have information about his whereabouts to call 911 immediately or contact Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 478-742-2330.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
