Tech Report: Being offline becomes the new status symbol as digital fatigue grows
More Americans are disconnecting from the internet and embracing real-world experiences.

(LILAMAX)- More Americans are disconnecting from the internet and embracing real-world experiences. Business Insider reports that many former “chronically online” users are turning to in-person communities — from running clubs to phone-free bars — seeking more meaningful, lasting connections.
The shift is reshaping the dating world as well. Once-dominant apps are losing users amid burnout and stricter subscription models, with more singles meeting through offline social activities instead.
Meanwhile, travel demand remains strong despite uncertainty over the government shutdown. Expedia and Airbnb both project at least 7 percent growth in 2025, noting that Americans’ appetite for trips shows little sign of slowing.
And AI is moving into bird-watching. The Bird Buddy smart feeder, featuring a built-in wireless camera, offers real-time bird sightings and community sharing through its app. Tech expert Jennifer Jolly says the device produces “stunning imagery” and connects enthusiasts worldwide. The company announced two new models — the Bird Buddy 2 and an upgraded Pro Model — expected in 2026.
In gaming news, Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed once again. Publisher Take-Two Interactive says Rockstar Games will now release the highly anticipated sequel on November 19, 2026, six months later than previously planned.
