WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – There was a party inside the Curtis Event Center in Warner Robins as supporters of Mayor LaRhonda Patrick celebrated four more years.

Mayor Patrick won reelection in a landslide, picking up 79% of the vote, while challenger Fabian Velazquez received 21%.

“A lot of nerves went into this day, a lot of work, a lot of anticipation and anxiety,” Patrick said. “But to know that we were successful in a major way, I feel amazing.”

Patrick says she’s most looking forward to projects like the development of a new amphitheater and animal shelter, as well as renovations to the Homer J. Walker Civic Center and on-demand shuttle transportation.

Patrick became the first Black mayor in the history of Warner Robins in 2021, as well as the city’s first female mayor. She says she hopes her two victories show young people in Warner Robins and Middle Georgia that anything is possible and thanked those who backed her.

“To my supporters and the citizens of Warner Robins, thank you so much,” Patrick said. “Thank you for trusting in me and believing in me to serve you and continue elevating our city.”

Velazquez says he’s proud of the race he ran and wishes the mayor well.

“I want to congratulate the mayor on her victory,” Velazquez said. “For a young candidate who was running for the first time, I think I did pretty good. I hope that she does well. I’m going to continue praying for her and the city.”
