Raffensperger: Georgia counties ready for Election Day, urges voters to turn out
Raffensperger says local election teams are ready for Tuesday’s municipal races and encourages Georgians to make their voices heard at the polls.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says his office and local counties are fully prepared for Election Day on Tuesday.
He says municipal elections usually see lower turnout than presidential or gubernatorial races, but every vote still matters. Races on the ballot include city council, mayors and two statewide Public Service Commission seats. Raffensperger says voters still have a chance to make their voices heard.
“All we can do is be ready,” he said. “And our team is ready, the counties are ready, so it’s up to the voters please get out and vote,” Raffensperger said.
He says in past non-presidential elections, lines at the polls have been very short, with average wait times as little as two minutes.
“We encourage everyone to get out the vote,” Raffensperger said.
He added Georgia voters can feel confident in the security of the state’s election systems. After the 2024 election cycle, a UGA poll showed more than 92% of Georgians trusted the process. He also explained said municipal elections may not have the same high turnout as presidential or gubernatorial years, but every voter can make an impact on local communities.
Raffensperger shared the updates while attending the Governor’s Challenge Award Ceremony in Macon, which honors local, state and military law enforcement office.
