Washington County deputies make 5 arrests, confiscate marijuana after overnight traffic stops
Deputies say they found marijuana, cell phones, and a drone intended for Washington State Prison during a series of traffic stops Thursday night.

DAVISBORO, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Washington County deputies made several arrests Thursday night during a series of traffic stops that uncovered marijuana, contraband and a drone they say was meant for Washington State Prison.
According to a news release, the first stop happened around 8:15 p.m. in Davisboro, when a deputy pulled over a suspicious vehicle. Deputies said they saw several packages wrapped in cellophane and a drone in the back seat. Investigators determined the items were intended for the prison.
Deputies say a search of the vehicle turned up marijuana, cell phones, lighters, a handgun and other items. Deputies arrested 46-year-old Shawnathon Faison of Hephzibah and 57-year-old Calvin Walker of Augusta. Both face charges of trading with inmates, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, criminal trespass, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and items prohibited for inmates.
The sheriff’s office said Walker was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
As deputies finished that stop, they say they saw another vehicle commit a traffic violation and pulled it over. Deputies said they smelled marijuana and saw a large plastic bag containing what appeared to be marijuana.
The driver, 27-year-old Jordan Dobson of Ellenwood, was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Gwinnett County. The passenger, 35-year-old Dayvon Crooks of Ellenwood, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. After further investigation, deputies connected Dobson and Crooks to the first traffic stop. Both were also charged with trading with inmates, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and items prohibited for inmates.
In an unrelated arrest, around 2 a.m. Friday, deputies say they clocked a vehicle going 106 mph in a 65 mph zone on Highway 88. The sheriff’s office said the driver had a suspended license and was taken into custody. A backpack inside the car contained marijuana.
Deputies arrested 30-year-old Markald Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina, on charges of driving with a suspended license, speeding, reckless driving and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
