Hollywood Minute: Rush announces return to the road, classic westerns celebrate anniversaries, and new documentary honors SNL writer
Legendary rock band Rush is hitting the road once again.

(CNN)- Legendary rock band Rush is hitting the road once again. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced they’re going back on tour, calling it a celebration of their music, legacy, and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020. Drummer Anika Nilles will step in behind the kit for the tour, which kicks off next June at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles — the same venue where Rush played its final concert in 2015.
Two iconic westerns are also marking milestone anniversaries. “Silverado,” starring Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner, and Danny Glover, turns 40 this year. Meanwhile, “The Quick and the Dead,” featuring Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, and Leonardo DiCaprio, celebrates its 30th anniversary. Both films are being re-released today (Oct. 7) in limited-edition 4K Ultra HD steelbook formats.
And finally, “Downey Wrote That” — a new documentary debuting October 17th on Peacock — pays tribute to Jim Downey, the longest-serving writer in Saturday Night Live history. The film features interviews with dozens of SNL cast members and writers, exploring Downey’s Emmy-winning influence on some of the show’s most iconic sketches.
