Teen found dead after late-night shooting in Bibb County

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a 16-year-old boy was found dead from a gunshot wound late Sunday night.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a 16-year-old boy was found dead from a gunshot wound late Sunday night.

Deputies responded to a home on the 5000 block of Soldad Court just before midnight, where they discovered the teen lying unresponsive in a driveway. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and attempted to render aid, but the 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Richard Robertson.

Authorities say the victim’s next of kin has been notified. The case remains under investigation.
