MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Department of Transportation says a section of US 80/Broadway in Macon-Bibb County will close during the midday hours from October 6-9 for railroad work.

According to a GDOT news release, Norfolk Southern will work on the project from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at the railroad crossing on US 80/Broadway.

GDOT said the dates could change depending on weather or other factors. Drivers are urged to plan for delays, slow down, and use caution in the work zone.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones,” GDOT stated in the release.
