Piedmont Macon North welcomes two new primary care physicians
Dr. Abraham Butler and Dr. Nisarg Patel will provide family medicine and chronic condition care for Middle Georgia patients.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Piedmont Macon North recently welcomed two new primary care providers, Dr. Abraham Butler and Dr. Nisarg Patel.
Dr. Abraham Butler is a board-certified family medicine physician caring for adolescents and adults. His special interests include obesity care, joint health, allergy management and preventive care. He says joining Piedmont was easy due to his sister working for them in pulmonary critical care.
“I’m considered first generation doctor in my family,” he said. “So to be in this role, to be in this seat and driving this kind of care and access for people, it means a lot. It’s life changing, and I know my family is proud of me, and I really want to come here and do good work and be a beacon for my community.”
He says having a primary care doctor in the community helps extend lives.
“It’s not something egregious, not something significant,” he said. “It is a statistical correlation that’s been there, and I think that’s amazing and powerful. And it really touches on the fact of how important it is for our community to have access to their family physician, and how we can show up for them, so they can show up for their family.”
Dr. Nisarg Patel completed his residency at Houston Health Care in Warner Robins. He treats various conditions such as heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis. Dr. Patel says he is thrilled to connect with his new patients.
“It’s something I envisioned for myself at a very young age,” he said. “So, reaching this goal of course means a lot. But every step along this way I have been able to get this insight that someone has always been there to help me. So, being able to care for people, to me, it’s just giving back.”
He says he wants his new patients to trust him and know he has their best interest at heart.
“Everything in health care to me is something that’s between me and the patient,” he said. “So, I will never unilaterally make decisions for you. It will always be a discussion. It will be something we come up with together. There is no such thing as a guideline that fits everyone, no such thing as a medication that’s fit for everyone. So, whatever we can do, I promise that we will do together.”
The providers are located at Piedmont Primary Care at Charter Blvd. on the fourth floor of Piedmont Macon North.
