GBI investigating Telfair County Chief Magistrate Judge Bryan Selph, other officials

The Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office requested the GBI investigation, which remains active.

MCRAE-HELENA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed Wednesday it is investigating “alleged improper conduct” involving Telfair County Chief Magistrate Judge Bryan Selph and “other public officials.”

The GBI released a statement on Wednesday:

“On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office requested GBI assistance investigating alleged improper conduct involving Telfair County Chief Magistrate Judge Bryan Selph and other public officials within the City of McRae Helena and Telfair County. The GBI Office of Special Investigations is currently investigating. After the investigation is complete the case file will be presented to the District Attorney for review and prosecutorial decisions.”

That’s all the information we have right now. 41NBC called Judge Selph’s office Wednesday. A staff member said he was unavailable at the time.
