Two suspects arrested after armed robbery at Macon CVS

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at a CVS store that led to the arrest of two suspects on Thursday, according to a news release.
Deputies said two masked men entered the store at 1271 Gray Highway around 9:40 p.m. August 21, brandishing a firearm and demanding money from the register. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a vehicle. No injuries were reported.
A short time later, deputies spotted the vehicle and stopped it at a gas station near the 3300 block of Mercer University Drive. A 20-year-old man exited the vehicle and was taken into custody, but the driver and another passenger fled the scene. Deputies later recovered the vehicle and pursued the suspects into nearby woods, where a second man was apprehended.
The suspects were identified as 20-year-old Elijah Jeremiah Searcy of Macon and 39-year-old Jamal Michael Roberts of Handover, Pennsylvania. Both were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Searcy, who also has a hold from Warner Robins, is charged with armed robbery. Roberts is charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and giving a false name to a law enforcement officer. Both men are being held without bond.
