SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says four teenagers, including a 17-year-old, face charges in connection with “approximately” 31 vehicle break-ins in Washington Estates and other areas of Tennille.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, the investigation ran from March through July 2025 and also involved the Sandersville Police Department and the Milledgeville Police Department. Deputies say the case began moving forward after Milledgeville police tipped investigators about a stolen firearm from Washington County.

Investigators say the arrests include 17-year-old Reginald Canty Jr., of Tennille, along with two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old. They are charged with entering autos, thefts of firearms and two vehicle thefts that happened in Sandersville.

Deputies say more arrests are expected.

As of this report, it’s unclear if this case is connected to the August 13 vehicle pursuit and crash in downtown Milledgeville. 41NBC has reached out to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran for clarification and are waiting to hear back.
