The Baldwin County School District says all schools will operate on a normal schedule Friday, August 15, following Thursday’s early dismissal caused by a water main break.

UPDATE: The Baldwin County School District says all schools will operate on a normal schedule Friday, August 15, following Thursday’s early dismissal caused by a water main break.
Water fountains will be unavailable, but bottled water will be provided. Boxed meals will be served for breakfast and lunch. The district said it will share information soon about rescheduling after-school activities.
Meanwhile, the City of Milledgeville has issued a boil water advisory for areas affected by Thursday’s break on Blandy Road. Impacted locations include:
- Blandy Road from Oak Hill Middle School to Ga. Highway 49
- Allenwood subdivision (Allenwood Road, Hickory Drive, Beechwood Circle, Sycamore Road, White Oak Lane, Allenwood Circle, Willow Bend Way, Bay Valley Drive, Hilltop Court, Nature Creek Trail)
- Ga. Highway 49 from Blandy Road to the 441 Bypass
- West Campus Drive
Officials say water in these areas should be boiled for at least one minute before use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food until further notice.
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – All schools in the Baldwin County School District will dismiss students early Thursday due to a water main break reported by the City of Milledgeville.
District officials said the break is expected to affect water service to several schools. As a result, dismissal will begin at noon Thursday, August 14.
Dismissal schedule
Buses for elementary school students in kindergarten through fifth grade will depart at 12 p.m. Middle and high school buses will leave at 12:30 p.m.

The district said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates regarding school operations for Friday, August 15.
