Isolated storms return Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After a couple of days with sparse rain odds they will start to climb again to finish the work week.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies will hang around Middle Georgia with gradual clearing expected into the overnight hours. Conditions will stay below average for this time of year and rain chances will be hard to come by, however one or two showers cannot be ruled out. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s with a light wind from the northeast around 5 mph.

Friday will be a partly cloudy day with isolated storms possible in the afternoon and the evening. Highs will reach the upper 80s and possibly lower 90s around the region. Wind will remain out of the northeast at 5-10 mph.

Overnight should be mostly clear with a nice view of the Full Moon for August, the Full Sturgeon Moon. Lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s as wind continues from the northeast around 5 mph.

This Weekend and Beyond

Rain odds are expected to climb a bit more over the weekend. It shouldn’t be a washout like this past weekend/earlier this week were, however isolated to scattered storms will be possible over the back half of the day both days. Highs will stay in the mid to upper 80s under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Watching the Tropics

The low pressure off the coast of GA/SC is expected to slowly move northeast back out to sea as it tries to organize. Currently there are 30% odds for it to become a depression over the next 7 days. Further east in the Atlantic another area of low pressure is trying to organize with 60% odds to become a depression in the next 7 days and 10% over the next 48 hours.
