Arrest Made in Connection with Murder of Ashanti Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An arrest has been made for the murder of 30-year-old Ashanti Macon. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 22-year-old D’Michael Jenkins in connection to the homicide of Macon on Friday evening.
Jenkins was taken into custody at the Riverstone’s Apartments located at 3990 Riverside Blvd., without incident.
Jenkins, facing murder charges, is being held at the Bibb County Jail without bond.
The arrest follows an incident last month where deputies responded to reports of a shooting in west Macon. They found a 30-year-old Ashanti Macon suffering from a gunshot wound in a back alleyway of Raines Lane, near the 1400 block of Pio Nono Avenue.
Macon was taken to the hospital, where she died from injuries sustained.
