Man barricades himself in Forsyth home after deputies attempt to serve warrants
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at a residence near Highway 42 North in Forsyth at approximately 8:30 a.m. on July 28 to serve warrants on 31-year-old Devin Adams.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Monroe County man is in custody after barricading himself inside a home Monday morning when deputies attempted to serve multiple warrants.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at a residence near Highway 42 North in Forsyth at approximately 8:30 a.m. on July 28 to serve warrants on 31-year-old Devin Adams.
Adams was wanted on two counts of fleeing and attempting to elude in Monroe and Lamar counties, felony probation violation, and a temporary protective order.
When deputies arrived, Adams refused to come out and barricaded himself inside the residence. The Monroe County SWAT team was activated and established a secure perimeter around the home.
Deputies attempted to communicate with Adams using phone calls and a loudspeaker but received no response. They then deployed OC gas into the home and used a law enforcement robot to assist in locating Adams.
After establishing visual contact, crisis negotiators were able to convince Adams to surrender peacefully. The incident ended without injuries or further escalation.
