Speed cameras to enforce limits in Byron school zone starting July 29

BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The City of Byron will begin operating speed enforcement cameras on White Road in the designated school zone starting Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

According to city information, the cameras will monitor vehicle speeds during specific hours and issue citations for violations. Speed limits will be enforced as follows:

  • 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM: 25 mph

  • 8:01 AM to 2:49 PM: 35 mph

  • 2:50 PM to 3:50 PM: 25 mph

The enforcement is intended to protect students and school staff. School zone signs and digital “YOUR SPEED” displays are posted to notify drivers of their speed as they approach the monitored area.

Officials caution that citations will be issued to drivers who exceed the posted limits during the listed times.

Drivers are urged to slow down, stay alert, and observe all school zone signage to help ensure a safe environment near schools.
