Piggly Wiggly in Gordon to permanently close August 16

The grocery store in Gordon is closing in August after years of serving the community.

GORDON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Gordon will close its doors for good on August 16, according to a message posted on the store’s official Facebook page on Monday.

“This was not an easy decision, and it comes with heavy hearts,” the statement said. “For years, you have welcomed us into your lives and allowed us to serve this community we care about so deeply.”

The store, located at 123 N Main Street, thanked customers for their continued loyalty, support and kindness over the years.

“We hope you’ll stop by so we can thank you in person for being such an important part of our story,” the post said.
