It’s been a hot start to the week in Middle Georgia with highs reaching the mid to upper 90s and heat indexes hovering around 100 degrees. There is almost no wind, and that will remain the case into the night. There is a slim chance for one or two showers or a storm, but rain is largely not expected. Clouds from the evening will clear through the late evening and into tonight. Lows are likely to be in the low to mid 70s leading into Tuesday morning.

Tomorrow

Temperatures will soar higher Tuesday with highs expected in the upper 90s and lower triple digits. Heat indexes for much of Middle Georgia are anticipated to climb to around 105 degrees, and thus a Heat Advisory has been issued for the entire region until Wednesday at 8:00 PM EDT. A stray shower or storm again cannot be ruled out, but odds are highly against rain Tuesday. Wind will be light out of the northeast.

Wednesday and Beyond

The major heat will stick around Wednesday as the aforementioned Heat Advisory will remain in effect until Wednesday evening. Rain odds will be slightly higher Wednesday evening, however most of the region will still stay dry. Storm chances will climb more over the later part of the week as the heat takes a slight step back.
