Inmate serving life sentence dies at Macon State Prison
The Georgia Department of Corrections says Sanchez Jackson died in custody while serving a life sentence for murder.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Department of Corrections confirms that an inmate at Macon State Prison died on Wednesday.
According to a GDC spokesperson, Sanchez Jackson died while in custody. Jackson was serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole for a murder conviction out of Fulton County.
The GDC said Jackson’s body was turned over to the county coroner and will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) crime lab to determine the official cause of death.
The GDC’s Office of Professional Standards is investigating the death, which is standard procedure. The spokesperson said no additional details are available at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
