Isolated showers likely Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Middle Georgia will see sporadic showers Thursday afternoon thanks to tropical moisture.
Today
Another mostly cloudy day is expected that will feature some rain chances through the afternoon and evening. Highs will climb into the mid to upper 80s as there should be a bit more sun than Wednesday. Most of the rain should be showers although a thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. No severe weather is expected. Ambient wind will be light and variable.
The evening and overnight should see a good chunk of cloud cover clear out. A stray shower will be possible early on. Lows will again be in the upper 60s and lower 70s, however, a few degrees above average. Wind will remain light and variable.
Friday and Beyond
Friday will feature scattered storms in the afternoon as a cold front approaches the Peach State from the northwest. This will lead to more storm chances this weekend as once again the cold front is expected to stall out and become stationary. Severe storms will unfortunately be a possibility as this front passes through. Rain odds will remain elevated well into next week.
