#1 Seed FPD Gets Best of Rival Stratford to Advance to the Final Four

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – At Ben Harden Memorial Field on Friday night, the #1 seed FPD Vikings swept their rivals from two miles down the road, the Stratford Eagles, in the GIAA Class AAAA Quarterfinal round.

The Vikings won game one 7-1 behind two homer runs, including a grand slam from Major Simmons. All seven runs came in the bottom sixth. Connor Strandmark had seven K’s.

In game two, both teams scored three runs in the third inning. However, FPD snuck one more in during the top seventh to take the series with a 6-5 win.

The Vikings will now host Athens Christian next Friday, May 23 in the final four.
