61-year-old pedestrian killed in Milledgeville crash

The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on Kings Road. It marks the fourth time in three days a pedestrian has been struck in Middle Georgia.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 61-year-old man died early Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Milledgeville, according to Baldwin County Deputy Coroner Stephen Chapple.

Chapple says Ronnie Gee was walking in the 400 block of Kings Road around 2:45 a.m. when a driver hit him. Gee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chapple said the driver turned around after the collision and waited for law enforcement to arrive.

The crash remains under investigation.

It’s the fourth time a pedestrian has been struck in Middle Georgia in the last three days. On Wednesday, a child was struck by a vehicle in Warner Robins and taken to Macon’s Children’s Hospital. There’s no update on the child’s condition. A 9-year-old girl died Thursday after being struck while riding a bicycle in Byron on Wednesday and a 53-year-old man was killed after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning in west Bibb County.
