Three injured in shooting at Lakeview Apartments in Fort Valley

A 17-year-old male, 19-year-old female, and 21-year-old female were injured in the shooting at Lakeview Apartments. Police have identified a suspect vehicle.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Fort Valley Police are investigating a shooting that injured three people early Thursday morning at the Lakeview Apartments on Edwards Street, according to a news release from Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores.

Officers in the area heard several gunshots around 12:15 a.m. and responded to the 1100 block of Edwards Street, where they found a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old female with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the leg. A 21-year-old female was also grazed by a stray bullet on her arm, according to the release.

The department’s Criminal Investigation Section responded to the scene and began investigating. Chief Flores said officers identified a suspect vehicle and at least one person of interest.

The case remains under investigation.
