Macon chef showdown to raise money for youth crime prevention

The May 3 event features nine tasting dishes, including brisket and seafood gravy, and supports YouthUp’s mission to reduce youth violence in Macon-Bibb.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Some of Middle Georgia’s best-known chefs — and one Bibb County School District leader — will go head-to-head in a culinary competition aimed at supporting youth programs and reducing crime in Macon-Bibb County next weekend.

The Celebrity Chef Blow-Out, presented by YouthUp, Inc. and the Youth Leadership Council, is happening on Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church, located at 1180 Bartlett Street in Macon.

DeAndre Hall with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, among others.

“Can Dr. Steve Jones’s culinary skills top those of professional chefs?” organizers asked in a promotional flyer. “Get your advance ticket today!”
