Trecia Gardner wins Cochran City Council runoff for District 1

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Trecia P. Gardner has been elected to the City of Cochran Council, representing District 1, Post 1, following a runoff election held on Tuesday.

According to a social media post from the City of Cochran, Gardner received 60 votes, while her opponent, Teresa Mack, received 48.

The runoff was required after both candidates tied with 44 votes each in the March 18 election.

A total of 108 voters cast ballots in the runoff, including 12 absentee ballots. The city says there are 802 registered voters in District 1.

“Congratulations to Councilwoman-elect Gardner!” the city’s post stated. “We appreciate everyone who participated in our democratic process. We would like to sincerely thank both candidates for their participation and commitment to our community. Your willingness to serve Cochran is greatly appreciated.”
