MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sunny and dry conditions along with below average temperatures will take over Middle Georgia Wednesday following a cold front Tuesday.

A cloudy morning is slowly clearing out over the later half of the day. Winds have been rather strong and will stay that way through the evening. Expect gusts to retreat to below 20 mph through the night, however, as temperatures dip into the mid 40s. Overhead skies tonight will be clear.

Sunny skies are expected across Middle Georgia with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s, or a few degrees below average for this time of year. Wind will flow from the northwest at 5-12 mph with gusts ranging 15-20 mph.

Overnight will be clear with chilly conditions likely. Wind will flow from the northwest-northwest at around 5 mph with low temperatures expected in the lower 40s.

Hot weather is likely to finish the week in Middle Georgia once the wind direction shifts to the south Thursday afternoon. Highs will push the upper 80s and possibly lower 90s heading into Easter Weekend. Rain odds will remain low through the rest of the work week as well.
