MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming cold front will bring in rare southeast moving storms overnight tonight.

This Evening and Overnight

A sunny afternoon will see plenty of clouds move in during the sunset hours and into tonight. Rain should hold off until close to midnight. A Level 1 “Marginal” risk includes most of the region. Some hail and a few wind gusts will be possible. With the storms moving southeast vs the typical northeast track, the tornado threat is nearly eliminated. On top of that, dew points will be too low for storm bases to push towards the surface.

Aside from storms expect ambient winds from the west-southwest at 7-15 mph with gusts pushing over 20 mph. Skies will be cloudy with temperatures dropping into the low to mid 50s.
