BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Critical Care for Animal Angels is locking up familiar faces from across Middle Georgia for a good cause during its “Jail & Bail” fundraiser on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Byron Baptist Church.
The event will feature 10 local “inmates” who have committed “crimes” and must raise their “bail” through donations to be released. According to the organization’s event page, attendees are encouraged to “come and see whose been caught, donate to CCAA to get them released, and heckle and jeer (if you like) to your hearts content.”
Critical Care for Animal Angels says the fundraiser benefits its rescue efforts in Byron, with all proceeds going directly to the care of animals. Donations help cover costs for veterinary bills, food, medicine and other essential needs.
Event organizers are promising a safe and lighthearted atmosphere, with “security” on hand as the attendees rally to support the rescue.
The makeshift jail will be set up at Byron Baptist Church, located at 100 White Road.
Critical Care for Animal Angels is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer-based organization dedicated to rescuing primarily homeless, injured or sick dogs from high-kill shelters in Georgia, the organization’s website says.
