Two arrested after traffic stop leads to drug discovery near Macon State Prison
The Montezuma Police Department conducted a traffic stop for a tag light violation on Walnut Street on April 1.

MONTEZUMA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people were arrested on Tuesday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and contraband near Macon State Prison, according to the Montezuma Police Department.
The Montezuma Police Department conducted a traffic stop for a tag light violation on Walnut Street on April 1.
When officers made contact with the driver, 27-year-old Aja Tatyana Johnson of Franklin, they noticed she was acting suspiciously.
According to a news release, officers used the Flock Camera System to track Johnson’s vehicle and noticed it was moving around Macon State Prison.
The officers notified the Department of Corrections Investigative Division at Macon State, which led to the discovery of a large amount of marijuana and other contraband. Officers also located 32-year-old Tecorius Kerrell Sasser of Newnan hiding in a wooded area off Lockman Road.
Johnson and Sasser were transported to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime. Other charges are pending.
