Man injured during deputy involved shooting at Forsyth CVS, investigation underway
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the shooting took place at 1:35 p.m. on April 1 at the CVS located at the corner of Tift College Drive and Patrol Road in Forsyth.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was shot during a deputy-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon at the CVS on Tift College Drive, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the shooting took place at 1:35 p.m. on April 1 at the CVS located at the corner of Tift College Drive and Patrol Road in Forsyth.
Deputies were at the CVS in search of 34-year-old John Monroe Barnes of Ellenwood, who was wanted on felony terroristic threats warrants out of Monroe County.
According to the GBI, deputies arrived on scene and found Barnes in the car. Barnes fired at deputies and deputies returned fire and hit Barnes.
Barnes was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Additional charges are pending against Barnes.
