Bibb County deputies ask for help identifying suspect in downtown Macon park assault

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in an assault that happened Monday afternoon in downtown Macon.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, a man was sitting in a park near Orange and High Street around 4 p.m. when someone struck him in the head. The victim was wearing a hood and did not see who attacked him.

Deputies say the man was taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

Investigators are urging anyone who was in the downtown area at the time or has video surveillance to come forward.
