‘Non-functional airsoft gun’ found on Dodge County High School campus

A non-functional airsoft gun was found on the Dodge County High School campus Wednesday morning, school officials announced.

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A non-functional airsoft gun was found on the Dodge County High School campus Wednesday morning, school officials announced.

In a Facebook post, the school said it is taking the matter seriously and has followed all appropriate procedures to ensure student safety. Officials say there was no immediate threat to anyone at any time.

“We remind all students that any item resembling a weapon is not allowed on school property, and disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with our school policies,” the post said.

The school is urging parents to discuss safety and school policies with their children to prevent similar incidents in the future.
