More sunshine and heat Wednesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The warmest spots in Middle Georgia may reach 80 degrees Wednesday afternoon.
This Evening
A sunny afternoon will give way to a clear and cool night. Wind will remain calm from the west as it blows in at around 5 mph. Temperatures will bottom out in the lower 40s.
Tomorrow
It will be an even warmer sunny day Wednesday as highs climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Wind will flow from the southwest at 5-10 mph with the occasional gust over 15 mph. Skies should again remain cloudless through the day.
Overnight some clouds will move in, but likely not until after midnight. Overnight lows will mainly be in the upper 40s, however a couple of lower 50s cannot be ruled out. Wind will continue from the southwest at 5-10 mph.
Thursday and Beyond
Thursday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers likely throughout the afternoon. Any rain should overall be light. Highs will mainly be in the lower 70s across Middle Georgia. Friday will be warmer but still mostly cloudy to finish off the week.
Storms are expected over the weekend as another cold front passes through. The SPC has already highlighted parts of the Peach State that could fall into a Level 3 severe risk.
