Twiggs County Schools delaying start Wednesday due to severe weather threat
Twiggs County Public Schools will start late on Wednesday due to the threat of severe weather expected to move through Middle Georgia, according to a news release from the district.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Twiggs County Public Schools will start late on Wednesday due to the threat of severe weather expected to move through Middle Georgia, according to a news release from the district.
The National Weather Service forecasts thunderstorms, strong wind gusts up to 45 mph, and the possibility of tornadoes between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. In response, the school district will delay the start of classes until 9 a.m. to ensure student and staff safety.
Teachers and staff are expected to report by 8:45 a.m.
“This decision is made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our students and staff,” the district stated in the release.
Twiggs County school officials will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates as needed.
