Small earthquake strikes Middle Georgia
A magnitude 2.4 earthquake could be felt Tuesday evening in parts of Middle Georgia.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WGMT) – A magnitude 2.4 earthquake could be felt Tuesday evening in parts of Middle Georgia.
At just after 6 p.m. local time, a small earthquake occurred 16 kilometers (just under 10 miles) to the north-northwest of Cochran, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The epicenter was 4.3 km (2.67 mi) beneath the surface. Those who were affected noticed minor tremors.
The quake came 10 hours after another Georgia quake (magnitude 2.6) that happened around five miles north of Menlo near the Alabama border.
