Three arrested after attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison
Deputies tracked down three suspects after they attempted to toss contraband over the prison fence.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Three people are in custody following an attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison on Tuesday night.
Deputies say they spotted two men trying to throw illegal items over the prison fence before fleeing into a nearby cornfield. A third suspect, their getaway driver, was intercepted on Highway 24.
With the help of K-9 units, authorities tracked down and arrested Amaris Porter, Roderick Sears, and Darius Wimbley. They are now facing multiple charges, including trafficking ecstasy and marijuana, as well as trading with inmates.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
