Mercer starts Softball Invitational with 17-0 win

The 6-4 Mercer Lady Bears defeated the 0-11 Alabama State Lady Hornets 17-0 in five innings

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  The Mercer Lady Bears kicked off the Mercer Softball Invitational against the winless Alabama State Lady Hornets Thursday.

The Lady Bears only needed four innings to get the job done after they scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning and eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Mercer Invitational will continue Friday at 11 a.m. The Lady Bears will face Middle Tennessee at 4 p.m.
