Clouds from last night cleared this morning and the wind began to pick up a lot shortly thereafter. Strong gusts of around 25 mph will continue through the late afternoon and into the evening before slowing overnight. Overnight wind will flow from the north at 5-10 mph with the occasional gust ranging from 15-20 mph. It will be the coldest night of the week as well with temperatures dropping into the lower 20s. Wind chills will dip into the teens to begin Friday morning. Middle Georgians with older plumbing may want to consider dripping the faucets overnight.

An overall sunny pattern will carry through the weekend as high pressure takes over much of the southeastern US. Expect this to lead to a gradual warming trend through the weekend and into next week. Wind should be rather calm through the weekend as well.
