MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The National Weather Service has placed Middle Georgia under a Flood Warning beginning today and lasting until Monday, February 17 at 7 PM. This is due to heavy rain associated with Thursday’s rain system. Any additional rain we receive will cause flooding.

The cold front that swept across the area has cleared out any remaining showers. In the front’s wake, skies have become mostly sunny across Middle Georgia. Lows Friday morning range from the lower 20s in the northeast mountains to the lower 40s across southeast Georgia. This is about 5 degrees below normal in North Georgia and a few degrees above normal across Middle Georgia.

Friday is forecast to be dry and mostly sunny across the region, with daytime highs ranging from the mid 40s in the extreme northeast to the lower 60s across the extreme south.

Clouds will increase Friday night as another storm system takes shape over the Central Plains. Some patches of very light rain may develop Friday evening, but more widespread rain is expected to hold off until after midnight. Low temperatures Saturday morning will range from the mid 30s across the northeast to the mid to upper 40s across the south.
