Sunny and breezy Valentine’s Day

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A brisk and sunny day is expected for Valentine’s following Thursday’s cold front.
This Evening and Tonight
A cloudy afternoon will eventually start to clear as the sun sets. Clearing will continue through the overnight hours as winds shift from the northwest to the northeast with speeds of 5-12 mph. Gusts will range from 15-20 mph.
Valentine’s Day
Mostly sunny skies are likely to finish the work week, however it will be cool and breezy as highs reach the upper 50s and lower 60s. Wind will flow from the east-northeast at 10-15 mph, gusting upwards of 25 mph throughout the afternoon.
Expect cloud cover to start to return from the south during the evening hours. Temperatures will likely be in the lower 50s around the region, so couples dining out will want an extra layer of clothing.
The night will be mostly cloudy and a few showers will be possible leading up to Saturday morning. Low temperatures will be in the 40s across the region. Wind will remain out of the east-northeast at 5-10 mph.
This Weekend
Saturday should be pretty cloudy around the region with highs climbing into the upper 60s for most of Middle Georgia. A few showers will be possible throughout the day, especially in the evening.
An incoming cold front will bring thunderstorms overnight Saturday and into Sunday. These will likely move into the region ahead of sunrise and should clear out in the late morning. At this time it is too early to know whether or not there will be a severe weather risk, but Middle Georgians should stay weather aware. Skies will clear after that as temperatures plummet to around freezing by Monday morning.
