Houston County Naacp Demands Accountability After Viral Warner Robins Traffic Stop

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Houston County NAACP is calling for accountability following a viral traffic stop that sparked controversy last week. The Georgia Department of Public Safety dismissed a ticket issued by a Georgia State Patrol trooper, who wrongly cited Lawrence Dixon for holding his phone while driving.

Although the ticket was thrown out, Houston County NAACP President Johnathan Johnson believes further action should be taken against the trooper responsible.

“He should be wrote up, definitely something in his files,” Johnson said. “Because if we don’t start documenting things that the police does, then they’ll never be held accountable, and in order to be held accountable you have to make sure they get wrote up.”

Johnson argues that dismissing the citation is only half justice, as there are no repercussions for the trooper’s actions. The NAACP plans to continue fighting and investigating the case to ensure accountability within law enforcement.
