UPDATE: Man arrested in hit-and-run that killed Macon woman on Bloomfield Road

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run that killed 43-year-old Priscilla Watson on Bloomfield Road on January 19.

UPDATE (3/12/25): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run that killed 43-year-old Priscilla Watson on Bloomfield Road on January 19.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, investigators identified 36-year-old Quintarius Johnson as the driver. Warrants were issued for his arrest, and Johnson’s lawyer later contacted investigators to arrange his surrender.

Johnson turned himself in at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. He is charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle.

His bond has been denied.

The case was initially believed to be a fatal stabbing, but autopsy results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation determined Watson died from an impact wound consistent with being struck by a vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

UPDATE (1/27/25): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced an update Monday regarding the death of 43-year-old Priscilla Watson of Macon, whose body was found on January 19 in the 4900 block of Bloomfield Road.

Initially believed to be a fatal stabbing, deputies say autopsy results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation determined Watson’s cause of death was an impact wound, consistent with being struck by a vehicle. According to the Bibb County Coroner’s Office, Watson’s next of kin has been notified.

Deputies say there was an event at the location on January 18 and are urging anyone who may have seen the victim that night or witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman is dead after being found with a stab wound Sunday morning.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, following the initial call at 10:40 a.m., deputies arrived at the scene in the 4900 block of Bloomfield Road and found a 43-year-old woman unresponsive with a stab wound.

“The female victim succumbed to her injuries sustained,” the release stated. Her identity hasn’t been released pending notification of family.
