Former Bibb County deputy arrested for violating oath of office, contraband allegations
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday the arrest of a former deputy accused of bringing contraband into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday the arrest of a former deputy accused of bringing contraband into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Misty Nichole Romeo, who was wanted on multiple warrants, was taken into custody Friday morning in Houston County with assistance from Perry Police.
According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Romeo, a former part-time deputy in the corrections division, was terminated on January 7 after an investigation that revealed she had brought tobacco, synthetic marijuana (K2) and a cell phone into the jail while on duty.
Romeo was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. She faces charges of giving inmates contraband, attempt or conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substance Act, use of communication facility in commission of a felony involving controlled substances and violation of oath by public officer.
Romeo is being held without bond. The investigation continues.
