‘Bootleg house’ shooting leaves one dead, six injured in Macon
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has identified a person of interest in connection with the shooting and is looking deeper into the operations of the home itself.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead and six people injured Thursday morning.
The Macon-Bibb 911-Emergency Center responded to a call at 1:12 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found three people suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical treatment was given to each victim, before they were taken to Atrium Health Navicent. Another of the victims was taken to Piedmont Healthcare.
34-year-old Jawasiki Guyton died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
“An argument broke out amongst some of the people that were at the residence,”Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said during a news conference. “And one of the people took a gun out and seemingly indiscriminately shooting into the residence.”
According to the sheriff’s office, the 1085 Triple Hill Drive residence is a bootleg house, where alcohol is illegally sold.
Davis says the home was closed in February of this year after a homicide but reopened over the summer. The sheriff’s office has identified a person of interest in connection with the shooting and is looking deeper into the operations of the home itself.
“We’re doing some background work to find out who owns this property,” Davis said. “So, there may be some charges in that regard for keeping a disorderly house or allowing a dive to operate. So that will be part of the ongoing investigation.”
An 18-year-old male is in critical condition, while five people are in stable condition.
