Sub-freezing temperatures expected overnight

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will drop below freezing across Middle Georgia tonight.
This Evening and Tonight
A cool and breezy afternoon will give way to a clear and freezing night as temperatures drop below freezing across the region ahead of tomorrow morning. Much of the region may see temperatures drop below 30 degrees. Wind will be gentle from the north-northwest, however gusts could push 15 mph. Despite tonight’s lows being below freezing, faucet dripping should not be necessary.
Tomorrow
Sunny skies are expected again Tuesday, however it will be a very cool day, even by December standards. Highs will reach the upper 40s for most of the region, or 15-20 degrees below the average for this time of year. Wind will flow from the north-northwest at 5-10 mph, gusting to about 15 mph. This may keep wind chills in the mid 40s.
Overnight will be absolutely frigid as temperatures dive into the lower 20s ahead of Wednesday morning. It WILL be cold enough that faucets need to be dripped. Wind will be gentle out of the north.
Wednesday and Beyond
Wednesday and Thursday will see highs return to the 50s around the region with humidity ramping up Wednesday evening ahead of another cold front. A spotty shower or two will be possible overnight Wednesday/Thursday morning. Temperatures will remain below average into the weekend.
