UPDATE: Missing Twiggs County man found dead

UPDATE (12/4/24):  The Georgia Department of Public Safety has released new information regarding the death of Willie Williams.

According to a news release, troopers were requested by the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a single-vehicle crash with one fatality on Bullard Road on December 3.

The investigation revealed that a Honda Civic was traveling west on Bullard Road when it left the roadway on the south shoulder. The Civic overturned and came to rest on its roof partially submerged in a creek.

The driver of the vehicle, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Twiggs County coroner.

The driver of the vehicle was confirmed to be a missing person, Willie Williams from Twiggs County, who was last seen on November 23.

According to the release, the crash happened on the evening of November 23, and the vehicle was not discovered because it was not visible from the roadway.


UPDATE (12/3/24): Willie Williams was found dead Tuesday night, according to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office.

An update posted on the sheriff’s office Facebook page said Williams was the victim of a traffic accident but did not provide further details.

“Please pray for the family,” the post said.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office needs your help finding a missing man.

According to a news release, Willie Williams, who was born in 1965, was last seen last Saturday morning and was “possibly sighted” Monday in Jeffersonville around noon. He may be wearing a blue or tan jacket with a tan hat. He could be in a 1990 Honda like the one pictured below.

Williams is about 6’1″ and weighs between 175 and 185 pounds.

Deputies say he previously had heart surgery and has a pacemaker. He also takes essential medication that he does not have with him to the family’s knowledge.

He’s known to go to Macon, Jeffersonville and Wilkinson County.
