Monroe deputies: Stolen vehicle pursuit ends with crash, 3 arrests

It happened Sunday morning in Monroe County, according to the sheriff's office there.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A stolen vehicle pursuit on Sunday ended with a crash and three arrests.

According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Anna Watkins, just after 9 a.m., deputies were notified of a BOLO on a 2014 Ford Fusion that was stolen out of Bibb County.

The suspects wanted in connection with the stolen vehicle were also wanted for their involvement in a drive-by shooting in Jackson, according to Watkins.

Less than 10 minutes after the BOLO was issued, Flock cameras alerted deputies the vehicle had entered Monroe County on Georgia Highway 87. Deputies responded and saw the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Deputies tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver didn’t stop. That led to a PIT maneuver.

The three suspects, 18-year-old Octavian Scott, 18-year-old Jadarious Wilkes and a juvenile, all from Jackson, were taken into custody.

Deputies say they recovered a 9mm handgun inside the vehicle.

Scott was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He will be charged with felony fleeing, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana, speeding and failure to maintain lane. Wilkes and the juvenile were taken into custody by the Jackson Police Department, according to Watkins.
