Temperatures dip Thursday; stay cool into the weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will be on a cooling trend to finish the week following Tuesday’s rain and cold front.

Skies across Middle Georgia cleared out this afternoon following a cloudy start. The winds have also become quite pronounced out of the west-northwest. Strong winds will carry through most of the rest of the week in the wake of yesterday’s cold front. Expect overnight gusts to range from 20-25 mph while sustained speeds range from 10-15 mph from the northwest. Temperatures overnight will be seasonal as they bottom out in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

It will be a much cooler day across Middle Georgia as highs reach the upper 50s and lower 60s with west-northwest wind flowing in at 10-20 mph, gusting to around 30 mph. These winds will likely keep real feels in the low to mid 50s around the region. An extra layer will be necessary for most who spend time outdoors tomorrow.

Overnight will be clear and cold as everywhere should see lows below 40 degrees. Wind will still be breezy from the northwest at 7-12 mph, gusting up to about 20 mph.
