MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local religious leader was honored years after her death with a street dedication on Wednesday.
Temple Place is now Prophetess Mother A.B. Jackson Way. It’s close to the Jackson Temple Holiness Church in East Macon.
Assistant Pastor Tommie Watson tells 41NBC Jackson founded that church.
Watson said her ministry changed the lives of many in Middle Georgia, including his.
According to the Macon-Bibb County Commission, Prophetess Mother Jackson also hosted a radio broadcast ministry on channel WDD on the AM dial for more than 30 years.
She died in 2012.
Commissioners voted to rename the street in July.
